What is the Immunisation Nurses Special Interest Group?

Formally known as INSIG, a professional body of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, Vic Branch, (ANMF Vic) that was established in 2004. We are now officially an independent association known as the Immunisation Nurses Special Interest Group Incorporated (INSIG Inc).

The purposes of the Association shall be as follows: (as taken from INSIG Inc rules)

1. To promote the professional, educational, and economic interests of Nurse Immunisers.
2. To provide a forum and networks for the sharing of information and ideas between members relevant to their nursing practice.
3. To facilitate participation in conferences, seminars and decision-making forums relevant to the interests of members and to enhance the role of Nurse Immunisers and their practice.
4. To facilitate the Association’s and members’ participation in special projects and research complementary to raising awareness concerning issues and emerging trends relevant to members.
5. To publish material relevant to members and their nursing practice.
6. To raise the public profile of the Association and increase public and health industry awareness of the value and role of Nurse Immunisers and their practice.
7. To carry on the work and activities of the former Immunisation Nurses Special Interest Group of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Victorian Branch).
8. To work co-operatively with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Victorian Branch) in advancing the foregoing purposes.

How will being a member of INSIG benefit me?

INSIG provides a forum that facilitates communication, discussion and encourages professional development for immunisation nurses in the State of Victoria. Financial members will have access to a range of resources. Some of those resources are available on the INSIG Members' Area and others are available by attending the free Member Meetings.

Members are invited to attend conferences, functions and meetings several times a year where knowledge can be swapped and information exchanged.

Remote/Country members

INSIG have commenced recording Member Meetings and has been regularly producing content so remote/Country will have access to video and audio recordings of meetings and presentations. Busy metropolitan members not able to attend meetings will also be able to access the content.

What Are The Costs Of Being A Member?

Membership is just $40 per year. The term is the financial year 1st September to 31st August.

How Do I Sign Up?

Express your interest to become a member by clicking membership@immunisationnursesvic.org.au Membership forms and invoices will be sent out to members with instructions for how to pay. After payment has been received, you will receive an email with your membership details which can used to log into the INSIG member area.
